A Book for Teen Boys

It’s difficult to find books that teen or tween boys will enjoy. I have a suggestion:

Trash by Andy Mulligan

Find it here on Amazon

The storyline is a mystery, fast paced and interesting. It takes place in a fictitious setting, but many feel it is the Smokey Mountains of Manila where people are so poor, they pick through trash for items to sell, eat or use.

I really enjoyed this story. It does have a few intense spots, so may be best for kids over 13 or 14. That is my “mom” rating  ha ha.

The Lexile Measurement for Trash is: 850L

A great book for a report on cultures, geography, world studies, or just summer reading.

Enjoy!

Spooky Pizza

This horror/thriller is in my pile:

Pizza delivery Kent

Pizza Delivery by Robert Kent

Description:

From Robert Kent, author of All Together Now, comes a new tale of terror. College student Brock Clouser is working a summer job delivering pizzas. During a run to the outskirts of Harrington, Indiana, he wrecks his car at an isolated country home. Though most everyone there has been violently murdered, he’s not alone.

WARNING

This is a novelette, not a full novel, and it’s mean and nasty and intended for a mature audience. It is absolutely not appropriate for younger readers. It’s a gruesome, repugnant tale featuring horrific acts of violence sure to warp young minds. Also, these particular characters speak in EXTREMELY COARSE language.

Yeah baby! Sounds awesome. 🙂

Do you find it odd that I enjoy chick lit and horror books? Ha ha

A Paranormal Book for Teen Boys – one without romance

If you need a book recommendation for a guy, a story that is a bit gritty, has paranormal elements, a male lead character – and NO fluffy love story….

Then I’d like to suggest – Lord Loss by Darren Shan.

Lord Loss Shan

Such a good book. This is the first title in the series. A great option for summer reading.
