My Review
Three Stars
A little love and lust in the sunshine. Who doesn’t like a California setting? As you can see by the blurb below, this romance is a bit unexpected for our heroine, Jenga. She is not looking for love. Nope, not at all. She just needs to make it through school and grab a good job.
The author can paint a very sexy male character. Oh my goodness. The descriptions of Ashton are very well done. I enjoyed the sparks and banter that flew between to two main characters. Books with believable tension are a bit tough to do. Lacey also sets up a fun combo of plot elements: the filming of porn-like soap operas and an incredibly rich family. Did I mention the sexy sons in this rich family…? Yes please!
What didn’t work for me were the clunky sentences. It seems a couple times per page I would be pulled from the interesting story due to loooong sentences. Twists, turns, odd dialog. Clunk. It’s almost as if the author didn’t use beta readers or critic partners. It was quite distracting and causes me to rate this title with only three stars.
The storyline is fun and sexy. I just think it needs to be run through a few rounds of edits. Find fresh eyes to take out the clunks.
Thank you for the chance to read this title.

Book Blurb:
“She will be his salvation…
And he will build her empire.”
Jenga Rollins
Hollywood… The ultimate dream. One of the hardest goals to accomplish for anyone brave enough to climb the entertainment ladder, especially for a woman. Yet fiercely independent cinematography student, Jenga Rollins, is determined to finish her master’s degree and to make a difference in the movie industry for females of all races. Trying to bury the most tragic memory of her childhood, Jenga fights to build a new life and doesn’t expect to run into the handsome stranger with the soulful, sad eyes.
Ashton Blasetti
A man of many faces, the son of a self-made Hollywood billionaire and running from a past he can’t forget. A man of both success and mystery, Ashton is known for leaving a string of broken hearts in his trail and for producing some of the most intriguing erotic scenes on film. He’s quite content reigning as the bachelor prince of underground tinseltown. That is, until he finds himself saving Jenga Rollins one day on Malibu beach, a twist of fate that changes everything.
What happens when two people from worlds as different as fire and ice come together?
The scandal continues in Love & Alliances.
